The Surya Rattan Lamp Shade is a handcrafted piece made in Bali, where rattan weaving has deep roots — and this design is a perfect example of that tradition. With its signature wilted shape, the natural rattan catches the light beautifully. In the evening, it casts soft, intricate patterns across the walls, and during the day, it stands out as a sculptural statement piece that draws the eye even when it’s switched off.
Materials Used in Our Surya Rattan Lamp Shade
Sun-dried natural rattan, cured for 7 days, is carefully wrapped by hand around an inner wire frame to create the lamp’s unique wilted design. Once woven, the rattan is lightly varnished to protect it from moisture and fading over time. To finish, the frayed edges are carefully burnt smooth using a blowtorch, giving it a clean edge and a refined, premium look.

I have a few similar rattan lamp shades that I bought from B&M / Ikea etc, and can honestly say that the difference in quality is noticeable. You can really see and feel the difference - it's a quality piece. Well worth the money and looks so good in my bedroom. How It's Made
Crafted over 10 days, each shade is made using rattan dried in the sun for 7 days. The rattan is carefully woven around an inner metal frame in the pattern you see, secured with a rattan loop, and lightly sprayed with a protective sealant.
